Driving Directions to Ashokan Center

Via the NYS Thruway

1.  Take Kingston Exit 19 and follow the sign to Route 28 West / Pine Hill

      (quick right after the toll).

2.  Continue on Route 28 West for 11.5 miles to the hamlet of Shokan. (*)

3.  Turn left at Winchell’s Pizza (red building on left) onto Reservoir Road.

     (Also, arrow sign on right for “Olivebridge 4 Miles” points left for Reservoir Road.)   

4.  Cross the Ashokan Reservoir Bridge and continue to the stop sign.

5.  Turn left at the stop sign onto Monument Road.

6.  Bear right at the fork onto 28A.

7.  Take the next left onto Beaverkill Road (just past the DEP police station).

8.  Continue for one mile and turn right at the Ashokan Center sign on your right.

 

From Ellenville via Route 209

1.  Traveling north on 209, turn left in the village of Stone Ridge onto NY 213.

     (This is an easily-missed turn – look very closely for the 213 sign.)

2.  Stay on 213, following signs to Olivebridge, until it ends at a stop sign.

3.  Turn right onto Route 28-A.

4.  Continue for 1.5 miles and make the first right onto Beaverkill Road.

5.  Continue for one mile and turn right at the Ashokan Center sign on your right.

 

From Oneonta

1.  Take Route 28 East.

2.  Pass signs for Phoenicia and Mt. Tremper – and go through the village of Boiceville

3.  Approximately 2 miles past the sign for Shokan, turn right onto Reservoir Road at the sign for “Olivebridge 4-miles. ”   (Also, the stores “Moose Crossing” and “Winchell’s Antiques” are on the corner, on your right.)

4.   Cross the Ashokan Reservoir Bridge and continue to the stop sign.  

5.  Turn left at the stop sign onto Monument Road.

6.  Bear right at the fork onto 28A.

7.  Take the next left onto Beaverkill Road.

8.  Continue for one mile and turn right at Ashokan sign

 

From the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge

1.  Continue off the bridge (Rt. 199 becomes Rt. 209)

2.  for approximately six miles.

3.  Take the Route 28-West / Pine Hill Exit.

4.   Continue on Route 28-West to the hamlet of Shokan.

5.  Turn left at Winchell’s Pizza (red building on left) onto Reservoir Road.

     (Also, arrow sign on right for “Olivebridge 4 Miles” points left for Reservoir Road.) 

6.  Cross the Ashokan Reservoir Bridge and continue to the stop sign.

7.  Turn left at the stop sign onto Monument Road.

8.  Bear right at the fork onto 28A.

9.  Take the next left onto Beaverkill Road (just past the DEP police station).

10.  Continue for one mile and turn right at the Ashokan Center sign on your right.

 

To return to Route 28

1.  Turn left out of the Ashokan driveway.

2.  Make the next right onto 28A.

3.  Bear left at the fork.

4.  Make the next right, cross the Reservoir, continue to Rt.28
